The Sprengel Museum in Hannover was founded in 1979. Bernhard und Margrit Sprengel had gifted their collection of modern art to Hannover in 1969 and supportet the contructions.
In 1973 the Collection Clarissa was gifted to Hannover by Käthe Schröder. It is one of the first collections of computergraphics in germany.
