Kurt Ingerl

Born 1935-05-28 in Ternitz, Austria.
Died 1999-03-04 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.

Kurt Ingerl was an Austrian artist, trained in the Fine Arts. Although Ingerl never owned a computer of his own, his Constructivist computer graphics and the PC programmes for his out-sized sculptures, memorials and facade designs made him into a pioneer of Computer Art in Austria.

1953- 63 Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and at the University of Vienna.
1969- 72 Assistant in the Department of Sculpture at the College of Applied Art in Vienna
1977 onwards Vice president of the Society of Fine Artists in Austria.
1988 onwards Vice president of the Artists’ Association “Wiener Neustadt”.
1992 President of the Professional Union of Austrian Sculptors.

Prizes received: – Biennial Santa Margharita (Italy) in 1977, Cultural Award of the State of Lower Austria in 1978 and the Cultural Award of the City Wiener Neustadt in 1986.
