This exhibition catalogue was published on the occassion of the exhibition Otto Beckmann und Alfred Graßl. Elektronische Computerkunst und cinematrische Abläufe [Visual Research] in 1969. It was published in the magazine “Alte und moderne Kunst” as well.

Graßl describes the mathematical history of “chance” and its application in art. Beckmann refers to Kleist’s Über das Marionettentheater [About the puppetry] from 1810 and says that the dance shall entirely descend into the empire of mechanical forces.
